This is pretty much how most of my days go. This was filmed in spring 2012 with a go pro camera. Equipment is a Kawasaki edger, Shindaiwa t242 string trimmer…

0:50 you shouldn’t be tilting the lawnmower like this – oil can leak from
the engine and get onto the air filter. This will cause the air inlet to
become blocked. You probably won’t be able to start the engine if the air
filter is clogged but if you can then you run the risk of having the spark
plugs going or the engine seizing if the air filter is not replaced asap.

ALWAYS TIP THE LAWNMOWER WITH THE AIR FILTER FACING THE SKY OR BACK ON ITS
HANDLES.

It’s Gilbert Gottfried doing his Nick Cage impression! haha!

Funny comments. I thought he looked like Jerry Seinfeld, but I can see the
Nick Cage resemblance (must be the nostrils!) Seriously, I just started
taking care of my own lawn again and I’ve watched a lot of videos for
various lawn maintenance tips. This kid was great … energetic,
well-spoken, good presentation skills (ok, yes, he needs to lower the chin,
but he will hone those skills with time). While he no doubt had a script,
whoever wrote the script was detailed enough for even a novice to
understand. Some videos assume the viewer is a lawnmower mechanic or
professional landscaper (why would THEY be watching these types of videos?)
Keep it simple and easy — like this video did. BTW: I wondered about
tipping the mower over and spilling the gas and oil. I still haven’t found
a video that talks about that — and the manual for my new Snapper doesn’t
cover it either. Overall, and relative to all of the other YouTube videos
I’ve seen, I give this video an A+ for good tips for general mowing and
edging tips.

Do not waste the money on a edger that is shown in the video. a weed eater
does a way better job then any edger will. If you cannot edge with a weed
eater due to inexperience or physical limitations that come with age or
disability i recommend a echo srm weed eater that allows you to change
attachments to a edger. It is worth your time to research more into the
echo line.

I disagree with Weston. An edger looks a thousand times better than a
weedeater.

Taking care of your lawn, in a way reflects your personality. Kinda shows
how you take care of your self, and your household. Nice tips, I’m sure
most people aren’t aware of these.

Your trimming the wrong way buddy. U should be fliging the grass into the
yard and not the beds, driveway, and road. But on another note thats some
slick edging. I want to put a gopro on the head of my whip.

why go over the edge spots a ton of times? first before cutting any lawn,
go around all the lawn once, then plan your lines, straight or whatever,
cut everything and tidy up by going once around to erase turning points at
the edges. this of course is optional and done for very good jobs. and to
whoever said the trimming was bad….nope, the green grass never is flung
into the bed, otherwise you’ll have to blow it after, or it will dry on the
bed, noticeable on nice mulch. anyways, whatever works for you

Excellent video. I loved the way you did not miss any of the edges which
most people do. Keep up the good mowing!
